Long time New Jersey senator Frank Lautenberg dies this morning. Since then, I have seen countless articles discussing who will replace the late senator, the rules for selection of his successor, the effect that the appointment will have on governor Chris Christie and the effect that a new senator will have on pending legislation. These are all questions that need to be answered, but do we have to start the discussion on the day that Lautenberg died? Couldn't the media folks wait for a day or so until after the funeral?
Look, I was not often in agreement with senator Lautenberg, but the man is entitled to some respect. After all , he was a US senator for almost thirty years. Today's spectacle in the media is disgusting.
