President Biden

The other day, a comment was left on this blog by a frequent reader who goes by the name Fastcarken.  Ken (with the speedy vehicle) wrote that he feared what would happen if president Obama were to resign; America would be left with that bumbling idiot Joe Biden as president.  Clearly, Biden is not likely to make a great president.  My guess is that we will never know since Obama will finish his term and Biden will retire back to Delaware after losing another bid for the White House.

Nevertheless, I think it is worth noting the difference between Biden and his boss Obama.  Biden may mess up what he says, which Obama does not do.  On the other hand, Obama does not tell the truth to the country, but Biden does not seem to intentionally tell lies.  Biden has had some screwy ideas over the years.  For example, Biden wanted to split Iraq into three new countries back in 2005.  Obama, on the other hand, seems to have no ideas.  Biden is a man with strong political views, but he has never been known to attack his enemies, only their ideas.  Obama, on the other hand, has been much like Richard Nixon and his enemies list.  From Obama's early days when he attacked Fox News as not being made up of journalists to the recent IRS mess where the power of the government was used against conservative individuals and groups (with no action taken by Obama to stop these ongoing attacks), Obama has been trying to erase his enemies not just to convince them to change their views.

There are more differences, but the ones listed above are sufficient.  The real question is if we are better off with a president who puts his foot in his mouth often, doesn't have great ideas, but who is basically a decent man or is it better to have a president who refuses to tell the truth, won't acknowledge his own positions, seems to have no ideas of his own, and acts to crush his opponents without regard to the law or the Constitution.  It is not a very good choice.
