Malign Neglect or Active Interference -- The Newest Scandal Breaks

Today is Monday, so it is time for another scandal to hit the Obama administration.  This time, the source is CBS News which has broken the story of drug rings and prostitution scandals at the State Department followed by interference by the Department in any investigations into the misconduct.

The acts by State Department personnel are seemingly outrageous.  There is one American ambassador who is said to have ditched his security detail regularly so that he could solicit sex with prostitutes in a public park near the embassy.  There are members of the entourage traveling with Secretary Clinton on trips who also frequented prostitutes.  Then there are Department employees who allegedly used their status to smuggle drugs across international borders.

As each of these instances of misconduct has been uncovered, investigations were started within the State Department, or so we are told.  In each case, however, the investigators were told to stand down as if they were soldiers trying to rescue folks under attack in Benghazi.

This entire mess is unacceptable.  What makes it even worse, however, is that it seems as if the State Department is covering up misconduct so that it can "look good" for Hillary Clinton and president Obama.  America has the right to expect that those who are guilty of wrongdoing will be caught and dealt with appropriately.  Sweeping misdeeds by one's cronies under the rug is the sort of thing that happens in a dictatorship, not a democracy.

On top of all of this comes one more question about the ability of the Obama administration to control the government.  This failure is a clear indicator of incompetence.  Those at the top just seem to look the other way ALWAYS.  It is "malign neglect".
