Case Against General Flynn DROPPED

One of the biggest "achievements" of the Mueller investigation was its indicting General Michael Flynn for lying to FBI agents.  Flynn at first fought the charges but eventually threw in the towel and plead guilty after the legal costs had bankrupted him and after the Mueller team threatened to also go after Flynn's son as well.  Flynn allegedly lied to FBI agents who came to see him in the White House on the fourth day of the Trump administration when he discussed with those agents his conversations with the Russian ambassador during the previous month.  Flynn cooperated with Mueller after the guilty plea but he was never sentenced.  There was a sentencing hearing begun but the judge in the case indicated that he was going to give a heavy sentence despite the recommendation from the Mueller team that Flynn get only probation.  At that point, Flynn replaced his original lawyers and tried to withdraw his guilty plea.  In the last month, documents have surfaced which somehow Flynn's current counsel had never gotten that showed the original interview with Flynn was a set up by FBI agents who were gunning for him to try to get him fired.  A motion was presented to the court a few days ago to dismiss the case on the basis of these documents and today two things happened:  the prosecutor from the Mueller team who had handled the case resigned and the case was dropped by the government.

This may sound complicated.  It isn't though.

Here's what is wrong with the Flynn case.

1.  The FBI agents who interviewed Flynn didn't follow the procedures for interviewing White House employees.  They even told Flynn that he didn't need to have attorneys involved (which is a violation of the Miranda rules.)

2.  The FBI had no basis to investigate Flynn.  According to government memo about dropping the prosecution, They DOJ concluded that Flynn’s interview by the FBI was “untethered to, and unjustified by, the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation into Mr. Flynn” and that the interview was “conducted without any legitimate investigative basis.”

3.  The FBI agents who questioned Flynn came to the conclusion that he had told the truth.  Their interview memo with that conclusion wasn't given to Flynn before he plead guilty.

4.  Flynn didn't even know that his conversation with the agents was part of an investigation.

5.  The FBI and the Mueller team knew all this but went ahead with the prosecution anyway.

If you read articles in the mainstream media, no doubt they will point to the fact that Flynn plead guilty to lying.  That's nothing to sneeze at, but it certainly doesn't mean that he actually lied.  Flynn was just trying to end the nightmare and to protect his son.  Remember, the agents who interviewed Flynn reported back that he had told the truth.
