There's a big lie being pushed today by the media and the Dems (so what else is new). The lie comes from the argument at the Supreme Court today regarding a federal regulation concerning insurance coverage for birth control The regulation allows employers to buy health insurance for employees that does not include birth control coverage if birth control violates the religious beliefs of the employer. Obamacare regulations originally included a mandate that birth control had to be in all policies, but the Trump administration put in the religious belief exemption.
If you read the commentary from the media or from Democrats in Congress, you would think that the issue is whether or not employers can prevent employees from using birth control. That's a total lie. Employees can use birth control if they desire to do so. The only question is whether or not health insurance covers the cost.
Some in the media claim that the lack of insurance coverage would put birth control out of the reach of many employees. This at least addresses the correct issue, but it is still a total lie. Nearly every state will provide birth control for free to people who cannot otherwise afford it. And it's not expensive. Birth control pills are 9 dollars per month at Walmart without insurance. If you use a discount app like Good RX, the price falls to $6 per month. Other birth control methods are available for less.
I truly despise people who think that they have to make people afraid that they will lose their birth control when it's not even an issue here.
