Old Joe and Tara -- Is Tomorrow Really Another Day?

Tara Reade was interviewed by Megyn Kelly and the full tape is being released today.  I haven't seen the video, but based upon the section of the transcript I've seen, it certainly seems to me that Tara is more than believable.  She seems to be telling the truth.  On top of that, there's also news today that in a court filing in the 1990's, Reade's former husband discussed in papers that Tara had been the victim of sexual abuse in the office of then senator Joe Biden.  This is written confirmation from more than twenty years ago of Reade's story.  It doesn't disclose details, but it makes absolutely certain that Reade's story is not something that was just dreamed up because of the presidential election.

So what is the response from the media and the Democrats?  It's starting to be more varied, but the basic response from most has been to circle the wagons to protect Biden.  We get statements from the few Democrats actually confronted with the issue by the media that despite whatever Old Joe did to Tara Reade, they are still supporting him for president because they despise Donald Trump and they like the policies that Old Joe is going to promote in office.  Basically, these people say that despite Biden's flaws (I guess rape is now just a "flaw"), they support Old Joe as the lesser of two evils.

This misses the point.  A good friend of me pointed out this morning that no one is asking the right question of Biden's Democrat/media defenders.  What would happen were Biden to be met by a coordinated response from Democrat leaders calling on him to drop out of the campaign?  If Pelosi, Schumer, and a host of governors, mayors, congressmen and senators called for a different nominee, what would happen.  Remember, Biden is NOT yet the nominee.  He doesn't even have enough committed delegates to assure him the nomination.  If he were to withdraw, the Dems could come up with someone else who isn't credibly accused of rape.  Wouldn't it be better for the Dems and the country for them to put forward a new person, someone who doesn't have this problem hanging over his head.

So why are the reporters not asking this question?  It's NOT too late.
