Rashida Tlaib, the new Democrat congresswoman from Michigan, is at it again. Tlaib, you may recall, is the congresswoman who told a Moveon.org that as for President Trump she was going "to impeach the motherf__ker". She's also the congresswoman who told Jewish members of congress that they should "remember what country they represent." That charge of double loyalty was right in line with standard historic anti-Semitic rhetoric. The Democrats in Congress did nothing about Tlaib's comments. Now, pictures have surfaced of a ceremony that Tlaib held back home in Michigan to re-enact her being sworn into Congress. She is standing with Abbas Hamidah, a man who calls Jews "Zionist terrorists", who endorses the actions of the terror groups Hamas and Hezbollah, who says Israel has no right to exist, and who calls for Jews, especially those in Israel, to be sent "back to Poland." In other words, the guy is a serious and very vocal anti-Semite.
I realize that Tlaib is of Palestinian descent, so she is not likely to be favorably disposed towards Israel. Still, there's a big difference between favoring the Palestinian position of the Israeli one and denouncing all Jews in anti-Semitic tirades. Abbas Hamidah is not just pro-Palestinian; he's a full fledged anti-Semite.
Tlaib tried to downplay the photos by saying that anyone who wanted could have come to her Michigan ceremony and that she took pictures with a great many people there. That sounds reasonable until you learn that Abbas Hamidah told the media that he had been to Tlaib's home for a private dinner with her and her family more than once. In other words, Tlaib's excuse for the photo is just BS.
Tlaib's association with this terrorist supporter and anti-Semite is totally unacceptable. Just yesterday, the Republicans took Steve King off of his committee assignments because he made statements supportive of certain aspects of white supremacy. That was the right thing to do. Now we have to see if the Democrats will do something to Tlaib for her repeated anti-Semitic actions.
