There was a vote today in the House Judiciary Committee on a proposal that would require the notification of ICE if an illegal alien failed a background check for the purchase of a gun. The Democrats voted against that provision unanimously, so it failed.
Think about what this bill covers. These are illegal aliens buying guns who can't pass a background check. Basically, that means they are criminals or mentally unstable. These are not hard working people who pay taxes (the usual description that Democrats give of illegal aliens.) These are mostly people in the country illegally who have committed crimes. That's the one group that the Democrats usually say they would deport. Here, however, the Democrats are protecting the criminals who are trying to buy guns. Does anyone actually wonder what use the criminals intend to make of the weapons? If there were a chance that ICE would be notified, the illegal criminals might not attempt to get a weapon. The Democrats, however, have taken a step with this vote to help arm the criminals.
