Elizabeth Warren is the ultimate phony. Someone consultant no doubt told her that she had to try to become one of the "common people" if she is to have any chance at winning the presidency. As a result, a few weeks ago, in the middle of live streaming event on the internet from her home, she stopped and said "I'm gonna get me a beer." Then she walked over to the refrigerator and did just that. You can be sure that this move was planned in advance and probably focus grouped as well. Even the words she said were very un-Warren-like. After all, Warren is a long time law professor first at Penn and then at Harvard. I doubt she ever said "I'm gonna get me a beer" ever before in her life.
The staged phoniness continued yesterday as she announced her candidacy. Here's the beginning of her tweet that she sent as she made her way to the announcement. "Me and my guys are here." Really. That's how she put it. Warren seems to think that she has to use English incorrectly in order to appeal to dumb American voters. It's just so clearly phony, though. Warren's move is actually very insulting to the American voters. They will see through it.
