This may seem hard to believe but it's true. As I write this, the likelihood of a deal to fund the government and border security is disappearing because Democrats want to put a limit on the number of illegal aliens that ICE can detain including violent convicted criminals. Let me be clear. The Democrats don't want to agree to any deal unless is limits the ability of the federal government to arrest and deport violent convicted criminals as well as all other illegals. Think about that. Illegal aliens broke US law. The Democrats don't want that enforced. Since President Trump has been in office, the focus of that enforcement has to been to capture and deport those here illegally who have committed violent crimes or who are members of violent gangs like MS-13. Indeed, such a focus on violent criminals for deportation was the policy that president Obama claimed to follow and it was also the route that Hillary Clinton said she would follow had she been elected. Now, the Democrats are demanding that this enforcement be limited.
It is truly bizarre that the Democrats would be fighting to protect violent criminals from deportation. An illegal alien from Central America who joins MS-13 and then commits armed robbery or assault should not be the one protected. It is the person who gets robbed or assaulted who deserves that protection. No sane person wants to keep the violent criminals in this country if they are here illegally. No one deserves to be the victim of one of these thugs.
Before I get emails about this, let me add that I am not calling all illegals violent criminals; in fact no one is doing that. At the same time no one could possible claim that there are no violent criminals among the illegals. That is a fact. The idea that a major political party would favor violent criminals over ordinary American citizens is not just bizarre; it's also insane.
