Warren Flipping Out

I know this blog is Connecticut comments, but I have to admit to being fascinated by the Massachusetts senate race. I keep writing about Elizabeth Warren, the only 1/32 Cherokee that I know, and her travails as her past stories about her "heritage" unravel. Now, something new has surfaced which will have to be the final straw. In an article in the Boston Herald, Warren is exposed as someone who made a fortune buying foreclosed homes and quickly flipping them to other buyers. In my book, this is worse than claiming a Cherokee background in order to get a job at Penn and Harvard. After all, Warren's claim to fame has been that she has been fighting those evil bankers on Wall Street who used mortgages to make major profits. After 2008, when those mortgages were being foreclosed, Warren was one of the loudest voices condemning the bankers. It turns out that Warren has also profited from foreclosing on others, just like those bankers she denounces. Warren, it seems has been exposed as a total hypocrite.

The Massachusetts Democrats are having their convention this weekend. Warren needs 85% of the vote to prevent a primary. Six weeks ago, that seemed like a possibility. Then came the Native American thing and Warren fell hard on her Cherokeester. Even so, she still seemed the likely nominee. With this latest disclosure, however, Warren may lose the vote at the convention. Not likely, since there is not sufficient time for this stuff to percolate, but it well may happen.
