Gruber Who?

If you read this site, then you certainly know who Jonathan Gruber is.  He is one of the principal architects of the Obamacare statute that made big news this week by admitting that the law was intentionally made confusing and misrepresented to the public in order to get it passed.  Gruber said that only the "stupidity" of the American voter allowed this method of passing the law to work.  This is big news.  The man who did more than anyone else to draft the Obamacare statute says that the law is based upon lies told to "stupid" voters; that's big!  So how many articles have been written about this in the New York Times?  The answer appears to be NONE.  I just searched through the top 200 results on Google for "Gruber and stupid".  Nothing was there from the New York Times.  There has also been no coverage on the mainstream networks according to the Media Research Council.  So NBC, ABC, CBS, and PBS have not mentioned the story in their news. Among cable channels, MSNBC has not covered the story.  Only CNN and FOX have given it coverage.  The Washington Post did run an article about the story.

Now imagine that instead of Gruber and his statement, the story was about some staffer to Chris Christie saying that the plan to close the George Washington Bridge a few years back was chosen because the New Jersey voters were too stupid to connect the dots.  Or how about someone from the Bush White House who said that the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq was a lie told to gullible voters in order to justify the war.  Is there any doubt we would be seeing that story all day, every day for weeks?

We do not have a free press.  We have free propaganda.
