As the election season closes, president Obama came to Connecticut to campaign with Dan Malloy, the Democrat running for re-election as governor. They held a joint rally in a high school gym, but they could not even fill the entire venue. Four years ago, Obama also came to Connecticut for a rally with Malloy. At that time, there were many, many more thousands of folks who showed up in a much larger arena. More surprising than the lack of turnout, however, is the lack of coverage in the local media. My local paper has no mention of the visit on its website. That is extremely surprising given the heavy pro-Democrat slant of that newspaper. It seems that Obama has finally fallen to the point where he is irrelevant, even in totally blue Connecticut. Too bad we are stuck with him in office for another two years.
