There is an interesting article in The Hill today which reports that Democrats are not going to make any leadership changes after the disaster they suffered last Tuesday. Here's the key sentence of the article:
The decision to stick with the status quo sends a clear message that Democrats believe Tuesday's disastrous outcome was caused by factors beyond their control.
All of the senate Democrat leadership will stay. All of the house Democrat leadership will stay except for Steve Israel who announced that he would no longer head the campaign committee. Debbie Wasserman Schultz is staying as the chair of the DNC. The Obama White House is making no changes other than to replace people who choose to leave on their own.
It's incredible. These people really did not get the message from the election. It was not a difficult message to understand. America clearly said that it does not like what the Democrats, and president Obama in particular, have been doing. So, after Harry Reid and his antics was a major negative for Democrats in election after election, they are going to keep him in his position.
How can they not understand? Are they all such creatures of the Washington bubble that they believe their own talking points?
