We all know about the videos released by ISIS that show various hostages from the US, UK and Japan being beheaded by ISIS butchers. Indeed, it was these videos, more than the slaughter of tens of thousands of Moslems in Syria and Iraq by ISIS, that forced president Obama to finally announce that his goal was the destruction of the terror group. We can all argue about whether or not Obama ever meant what he said about that goal, but he said it nevertheless. The total depravity of the ISIS murderers so revolted the American people that Obama was left with no choice. Well now, ISIS has managed to outdo itself.
ISIS released a video today that shows a Jordanian air force pilot who was captured by ISIS. The pilot is put in a steel cage and then he is set on fire and burned to death. This is a particularly gruesome manner of execution, and ISIS had no reason to kill its prisoner in the first place. On top of the horrible murder is the fact that it took place about a month ago. After slaughtering the pilot, ISIS negotiated with the Jordanian government to exchange the captive for a terrorist held in the jails of Jordan. In other words, ISIS tried to trick Jordan into releasing the terrorist in exchange for nothing. The Jordanians, however, agreed to make the swap only after they received proof that their pilot was still alive. Needless to say, the deal fell apart at that point.
Hopefully, the American people will pay attention to this latest outrage by ISIS. Just because the dead man is Jordanian and not American, we should not ignore the moral depravity that ISIS displays. President Obama has already condemned the killing as another condemnation of "whatever ideology motivates" ISIS. (Hint for Obama: it's called radical Islam.) Let's be direct and honest. Let's condemn ISIS and the radical Islam that it promotes.
