Jordan Responds

After ISIS released its video showing its murder of a Jordanian air force pilot by burning him to death, the Jordanian government has responded.  It announced that it will execute the convicted terrorist whose release had been sought by ISIS in exchange for the pilot.  Of course, ISIS did not ask for the release until weeks after the pilot was already dead.  The terrorist to be executed had already been condemned to death for her part in a series of bombings in Jordan.  The Jordanians also announced that they would execute other convicted al Qaeda and ISIS prisoners in the next few days.

It's interesting to watch the Jordanian response and to compare it to the response from other countries to similar attacks on their people.  Jordan's government has not come up with any slogans or interesting hashtags to make its point.  Jordan has stuck with actually doing something.  If ISIS murders a Jordanian, then Jordan will execute a terrorist criminal.  How different this is from the standard response in Obamaland.

We do not know if this reaction from the Jordanians will reduce the threat to its citizens from ISIS.  We will have to wait and see.  No matter what, however, we all have to applaud the Jordanians for not kowtowing to the terrorists and their tactics.
