National Review on line points out today that last night's change to the Obamacare individual mandate announced by president Obama is the fourteenth unilateral change to the law this year. Putting that into simple English, it means that Obama has usurped the power of Congress to pass laws. It means that Obama has violated the Constitution. It means that Obama has acted in a way that no previous president has ever even tried to do. The real truth is that it means that Obama ought to be impeached and removed from office.
Now I know that there will not be any impeachment and to raise the subject will make it easy for those on the left to totally discount what I say here. Nevertheless, we have finally gotten to the point where something has to be done if we are to keep America's constitutional form of government.
Do you remember what you were taught in school? Our government has three branches: the executive, the legislative and the judicial. The legislative branch, Congress, makes the laws. The executive branch, the president and his agencies, enforce the laws. The judicial branch, the courts, interpret the laws and settle disputes. What Obama has been doing is to try to take from Congress the power to make the laws. Think about it. America's laws require the federal government to take action against illegal aliens; Obama announced that he would not do so if the aliens were brought here as children and met other criteria. The truth is that what Obama announced was, in essence, that he would enforce the immigration laws as if the Dream Act had passed. But the Dream Act did not pass; Congress rejected it. Obama just made it the law by executive order, a power he does not have.
Obama took this course to undermine the Constitution in a number of areas, but nothing even came close to how he has dealt with Obamacare. Fourteen times he has altered the law illegally. FOURTEEN TIMES!!!!!!!!! What was the point of passing the law in the first place? Why didn't Obama just announce that it was in place via executive order?
This sort of complete lawlessness by Obama cannot be allowed to continue. Our entire governmental structure is in danger of destruction. Obama should be impeached.
