Repealing Obamacare ???

One of the new talking points coming from the White House is that Republicans have given up trying to repeal Obamacare.  The repeal movement has just died out according to the Obamacrats.  Here's how they put it on Salon.

The repeal campaign — once marked by earnest and sustained efforts to wipe the law off the books — has all but burned itself out.  But the law remains a potent political organizing force — a rallying cry Republicans believe they can use to channel the right’s Obamacare obsession into voter turnout.

I wonder who comes up with this stuff and where they live.  Certainly, the creators of these talking points do not live in the real world.  After all, it was less than two months ago when the GOP was trying to delay Obamacare and the Democrats' response was to refuse since it was the "law of the land".  The Democrats won that battle and America got the resulting mess which is currently destroying the insurance of nearly half the people in this country.  Just two months ago, the Democrats told us that repeal would never happen so long as they controlled the White House and the Senate.  So, to be clear, the effort to repeal Obamacare has not burned itself out.  What has happened is that the focus of the effort has shifted.  In a year, if the Republicans take control of the Senate after the elections, does anyone think that there will not be an Obamacare repeal?  It is true that president Obama might veto that repeal, but I doubt if there will be enough Democrats who will want to uphold that veto if their party has just been decimated as a result of its support for the Obamacare law.  Not many politicians in Washington will care about the desires of a lame duck president even if he is from their own party if meeting those desires puts their own careers in jeopardy.
