The New Campaign Slogan

The election of 2008 brought "hope and change", "yes we can" and "change you can believe in".  Over time, those slogans have disappeared and the Democrats have not really had anything with which to replace them.  Today, however, we get news which makes clear what the new slogan for the party ought to be.

Let me explain.  In recent poll results, Americans were asked if they consider president Obama "honest and trustworthy".  Obama only scored in the high 30's on that measure, a terrible result for any president.  Still, after all of those lies about Obamacare were publicized, it seems surprising that Obama scored as high as he did.  Here's the key, however.  Among Democrats only, Obama is still rated honest and trustworthy by over 80% of those polled.  Republicans had Obama down near 10% on this measure and independents scored Obama in the 20's.  It seems that the Democrats just do not see the reality of what has been happening.

That brings me to the new campaign slogan for the Democrats:

If you like your delusions, you can keep them!
