It's Time For A Draft Liz Movement

I read the news today that representative Keith Ellison of Minnesota think that senator Elizabeth Warren should run for president in the next election.  Usually, Ellison is identified as the chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, but he would be more clearly identified as the only member of Congress who was a member of the Nation of Islam (also known as the Black Muslims) and the only Moslem in Congress.

I usually don't agree with Ellison on anything, but today I do.  I want senator Warren to run against Hillary Clinton.  In fact, I want Liz Warren to get the nomination of the Democrats.  Just think about what Warren's nomination would be:

1.  She would be the first woman candidate for any major party for president.

2.  She would be the first presidential candidate who falsely claimed to be a Native American to advance her career through affirmative action.

3.  She would be the third Democrat from Massachusetts in the last thirty years to be nominated for president.  The first two were Dukakis and Kerry, and they both lost.

4.  She would be the first Democrat presidential nominee even who can actually get hysterical at the prospect of a change in the regulations that affect transactions in derivative instruments by banks.

5.  She would be the first Democrat candidate in thirty years (since Mondale) who could be nominated with no real chance of being elected.

A Warren nomination, particularly if the GOP nominates someone with demonstrated competence like governor Kasich of Ohio or governor Walker of Wisconsin, would present the nation with a clear choice.  It would let America reject once and for all, the idiot progressive nonsense of the sort peddled by president Obama and senator Warren.

Let's start a group seeking to draft Warren.
