More Non-Combat Combat Troops Going To Iraq

After the battle the other day in which American troops fought with Iraqis to beat back an attack by ISIS, it did not take long for still more American boots on the ground to get directed to Iraq.  Stars and Stripes is reporting today that about another 1000 American airborne troops are headed to Iraq.  Their mission is nominally "training", but sending these troops for that work is like sending a brain surgeon to do first aid in a school nurse's office.  There is no way that a thousand airborne troops sit around and just train others.  These guys are the proverbial sharp end of the spear.  They are undoubtedly going to Iraq to hit ISIS and to hit it hard.

It would be nice if there were at least some honesty in telling America what is happening.  President Obama has us in a half hearted war with ISIS but he won't admit that it is underway.  This makes the effort much more difficult for those Americans who are tasked with the effort.  It also allows ISIS to adapt to increased American strength that comes in slowly rather than in overwhelming force that crushes ISIS.
