I did not see the testimony of Jonathan Gruber before a congressional committee yesterday, aside from some lengthy excerpts. Gruber kept apologizing for his comments that were, according to him, trying to make himself look smart by calling others stupid. We heard that he was too glib. We also heard that he did not remember all sorts of details. It was a festival of apology and lying. Aparently there is nothing more upsetting to the liberal professor than having been caught telling the unvarnished truth at all these conferences over the last few years.
There are three questions that I would have like to have seen Gruber answer:
1. When the Obamacare bill was passed, did you think that all Americans could keep their health insurance policies if they liked them?
2. When the Obamacare bill was passed, did you think that all Americans could keep their doctors if they liked them?
3. When the Obamacare bill was passed, did you think that it would reduce the cost of health insurance for the average American family by $2500 per year?
These are not easy questions to answer.
