Here's the question of the day: have you heard that Iran has been discovered cheating on its promises with regard to its nuclear program? Did you know that Iran was caught trying to buy parts needed for construction of a nuclear reactor that would allow production of material needed for building atomic weapons?
My guess is that unless you follow the news very carefully, you are unaware of these developments regarding the Iranians. After all, why would the media cover major misconduct by Iran in clear violation of the agreement to hold talks with Teheran when it could instead cover questions about what the CIA did ten years ago? The news about Iran, however, is extremely important. It shows that the Iranians do not have their nuclear program on hold while its future is debated. No, the mullahs are still going full speed ahead to get nuclear weapons while the fools like John Kerry and his boss president Obama talk and talk and talk only to then extend the deadline so that they can talk some more. If nothing is done to stop Iran at this point, Obama will just talk while Iran gets nukes.
During the last year, when efforts were made in Congress to pass sanctions on Iran, Obama and his people said that they were strongly against those sanctions UNLESS IRAN CHEATED ON THE AGREEMENTS. Well now it has happened, and the cheating is on an important matter. Will Congress renew the push for sanctions? Will Kerry and Obama honor their commitments to new sanctions if Iran cheated? Or, more likely, will we hear from Obama that sanctions would stop the talks (which have not and will not work).
Hopefully, the new Congress will move in January towards the imposition of harsh sanctions on the Iranians. If Obama wants to stop that, let him veto those sanctions. My guess is that Congress would override that veto.
