Yesterday, Wisconsin representative Paul Ryan said that he would not seek the GOP nomination for president in 2016. At the same time, Mitt Romney let it be known that he is "almost certain" to run again. That's two bad moves on the same day and, in Ryan's case, a sad day for America. Ryan is one of the most knowledgeable and thoughtful people in Washington. He is not afraid to take innovative positions and to promote new ideas. Ryan is not stuck in the past. He would have made a great president in my opinion. Romney, however, is a has been. He has already run and lost twice. In an election against a leftover from the 1990's (Hillary Clinton) should the GOP actually run its own remnant from the past? Certainly not! That means no Romney and no Bush.
Let's hope the GOP primary voters agree with me.
