Staring Reality in the Face

The House today passed a bill to fund the Homeland Security Department for the rest of the year.  The bill has two provisions in it regarding immigration.  The first of these two undoes president Obama's executive action providing amnesty to about five million illegal aliens.  The second provision undoes Obama's earlier executive action that gave amnesty to about three quarters of a million young people, the so-called "dreamers" who are also here illegally.  The majority in the House made clear that the reason for these actions was mainly to protect the constitutional right of Congress to make the laws; Obama, as president, cannot make law, only enforce law.  Obama's two executive actions went way beyond Obama's powers.

Neither the provisions of the bill nor its passage are any surprise to Washington or the mainstream media.  Nevertheless, the howls of outrage from DC can be heard here in Connecticut, nearly 250 miles away.  Democrats are screaming that Republicans are heartless because they are taking away the advantages conferred by Obama upon millions of illegals.  Other Democrats are screaming that the GOP is racist because most of those who would lose the rights illegally conferred upon them by Obama are Hispanic.  Then there is the third group that accuse the GOP of damaging national security because the provisions are attached to the funding for the Department of Homeland Security which runs the domestic counter-terror operations.  These are phony arguments, but they still could carry the day.  Without a doubt, the mainstream media will portray these false arguments as reality and ignore the actual facts.  It happens every time.  The real question is whether or not the American people will realize the truth despite the biased presentation of the news on the subject.

It is time for America to stare reality in the face.  Our entire constitutional system is under attack by Obama and the Obamacrats.  This is not a peripheral matter; it goes to the heart of our republic.  Everyone needs to get the truth out so the whole public understands what is at stake despite what the media says.
