Houthi and the Blowfish

It looks like Yemen is now in total chaos.  The Houthi militia seems to control the capital city.  Al Qaeda controls other parts of the country.  The remainder seems up for grabs.  The anti-terrorist president resigned and his forces seem to have crumbled.  And president Obama?  He hasn't seen fit to discuss the loss of a Middle Eastern ally of America in any detail.  He seems content to leave things with his description given not long ago of Yemen as a great "success" story.  I guess Obama doesn't really think it matters whose success it is.

Then there is the death of the Saudi king and his replacement with his half brother who is said to suffer from dementia.  Yemen is extremely important, but Saudi Arabia is at least one hundred times more important.  Let's hope that Obama actually has some strategy for dealing with the Saudi transition.

On top of this, we are getting more sour grapes and threats coming from Obama because the Israeli prime minister accepted an invitation from Congress to give a speech there.  Only Obama could run our nation's foreign policy based upon whether or not the Israeli leader checked first with him before agreeing to a speech.  The White House leaked word that Netanyahu had "spit in Obama's face" with this move.  It's really amazing.  Obama worries constantly about what the Iranians think so he doesn't want even a discussion of sanctions being imposed on them.  These are the same Iranians who called Obama a "monkey" a week ago and made some other very nasty comments abut the president.  That was not considered enough for Obama to respond.  An Israeli leader who accepts an invitation sent by the Speaker of the House, however, is a major criminal in Obama's world view.

Where are the clowns?  There ought to be clowns?
