President Obama's efforts to empty Guantanamo of its terrorist detainees is continuing full speed ahead despite the Paris terror attacks. Five more were released yesterday. Four of them went to Oman in the Arabian peninsula. That may sound unimportant until you hear the history of these men. Supposedly, the five were "ready" for release in 2009 (which also happens to be the year Obama took office.) They were held, however, because the USA did not want to send the men back to their homes in Yemen where there is a rather active al Qaeda group. Six years later, however, Obama released them and sent them to Oman. For those who don't know, Oman is just to the east of Yemen. It's the rough equivalent of refusing to send the men to North Carolina but sending them for release in South Carolina instead. It's just a short trip from Oman to Yemen across a border that is wide open. What that means is that a reason that was sufficient for Obama to hold these men for six years is now being ignored just to empty Gitmo.
The motto of Obama and his people ought to be "Dishonesty Forever!"
