The Dean of America

Howard Dean is nuts.  He was nuts when he ran for president; in fact, it was his crazy war whoops that was the final blow against his candidacy.  Dean was just too far out there even for the Democrat party.  So Dean was out as a presidential candidate but the Dems made him their national chairman.  Thankfully, Dean is gone from that job too, but he is still appearing on national TV to spout some rather crazy ideas.  The latest came this morning when Dean told American viewers that he no longer calls terrorists like those in Paris Moslems.  According to Dean, the killers who shouted "Allahu Akhbar" and "we have avenged the insult to the prophet" are no more Moslems than Dean himself.  That's right, the malevolent killers may say that they are Islamic jihadists who fight in the name of Allah and for the prophet Mohammed, but Howard Dean knows that they really aren't Moslems.  And Dean knows this because Islam would not condone such conduct.

The combination of arrogance and stupidity displayed by Dean is mind-blowing.  The good doctor from Vermont is now more of an expert on who is and who is not a Moslem than the people across the Middle East.  Remember, no one in Syria or Lebanon or Iraq or Saudi Arabia or Pakistan is telling us that these killers in France are not Moslems.  In fact, none of the world's billion and a half Moslems is making that claim.  Instead, it is the Christian from New England who now pretends to know who is and who is not a Moslem.

In reality, Dean is displaying a mass delusion of progressives in this country.  They think that to call the terrorists Islamic is to display Islamophobia.  Telling the obvious truth is racist and bigoted in their minds, so they prefer telling obvious lies so as to stay true to their political beliefs.  If the delusion and lies were about kittens, that would be one thing.  The delusion about the intentions of literally millions of Moslems, however, is not something with which we can live.  There is just too much at stake to do that.  Just ask the staff at Charlie Hebdo.
