Maybe There's a Story Here

By now, you have probably heard of Jeffrey Epstein, the billionaire convicted pedophile who allegedly procured young women for rich and famous men including Britain's Prince Andrew and well known attorney Alan Dershowitz (a story they both deny).  It is a fact that Epstein was a friend of Bill Clinton and let the former president use his private jet on many occasions.  We also know that Clinton visited Epstein in the Caribbean in places where some of the alleged sex romps took place.  that used to be the full extent of the story, so there really was no connection between Clinton and any underage women.  Now, however, as more statements come out, it seem the story is changing.

There is an article in today's New York Post that says that Clinton visited the so-called "orgy island" owned by Epstein.  The woman who is the source of most of the claims says that she saw the former president at Epstein's villa accompanied by two young ladies from New York as well as two of Epstein's girls that he allegedly procured for sex with the famous men.

Can it really be that a former president spent time at orgies with young women?  Remember, that would mean that the US Secret Service would have all the details about this.  After all, former presidents and their spouses get protection for life.  Before Monica Lewinsky, I would have assumed that the presence of the Secret Service would have prevented Clinton from doing something like that, but if he could have sex in the Oval Office of the White House with the Secret Service watching, an orgy in the Caribbean would not be off the table.  Normally, I would also assume that a story like this about a former president was just made up to get publicity and maybe a big payoff.  With Clinton, however, there is no benefit of the doubt.  If anything, that benefit goes the other way.

This is more than just a sex scandal however.  I doubt that Americans really want to bring back the days of having a horndog back in the White House.  During the Lewinsky mess, Hillary got the sympathy of many people as the innocent victim of a straying husband.  If nothing changed, however, in Bill's behavior, then Hillary is less an innocent and more just an enabler.  She obviously knew or had very good reason to know that Bill was a cheat.  She also, obviously, did not care.  It does not sound like the characteristics we would want in a president.
