Here are two numbers: 50 and 94. Do you know what they are? They are the number of dead (50) and wounded (94) at a wedding in Turkey that was attacked by a terrorist suicide bomber yesterday. It was a terrible attack in terms of casualties. It is made even worse because it turned a moment of joy (the wedding) into one of horror. Today, however, there is very little coverage of this massacre in the media. It is mentioned on some of the news sites, but mostly it is covered in passing.
Think about that. Turkey is not at war. There is no front against ISIS in that nation. Turkey does border Syria, but still this is a massive terrorist attack in a country that should not be seeing them. The Turkish government blames the attack on ISIS. Why is there so little coverage? Have we reached the point where a terrorist blowing up a wedding and killing or wounding over 100 people is just a minor story? It certainly looks that way.
We cannot become accustomed to terror attacks without losing our humanity. Let's not permit this to happen.
