The Perjury of Hillary Clinton

Republican in the House of Representatives sent a letter today to the FBI detailing four instances in which Hillary Clinton lied during her testimony to Congress last winter.  The four are as follows:

1.  Clinton said that none of the emails she sent or received were marked classified.  The FBI director confirmed that a small number were marked classified.

2.  Clinton said she only used one private server.  The FBI director confirmed that she had used multiple servers and devices while secretary of state.

3.  Clinton said that before her work related emails were turned over to the State Department, her staff and attorneys had read each and every one of her emails. The FBI director confirmed that no such effort was undertaken; the lawyers relied on headers and key word searches to separate out the work related emails to turn over to State.

4.  Clinton said that she turned over all her work related emails to the government.  The FBI director confirmed that there were more than 1000 work related emails that Hillary Clinton did not turn over to the State Department.

In order to prove perjury, there would have to be intent on the part of Clinton to lie to the Congressional committee.  It would not be hard to show that intent.  For example, when the emails were first turned over to the State Department, the Clinton campaign said that the work related emails had been separated by using headers and key word searches.  In other words, they told the truth which was later confirmed by the FBI.  After an uproar at the way the separation was done, Hillary started telling people that her attorney had read each and every email.  In other words, the story was changed from the truth to a lie, and Hillary just kept telling the lie.  The point, however, is that she knew it was a lie. When Hillary repeated the lie to Congress, IT WAS STILL A LIE AND SHE KNEW.  That's all the intent a prosecutor would ever need for a conviction.

Look, we all know that the Justice Department will never prosecute Hillary for her perjury.  Loretta Lynch still wants a job in a Clinton administration.  Nevertheless, it's not often that a president or presidential candidate actually lies under oath.  The last time that happened, the liar was Bill Clinton.  He got impeached for it.  Prior to Clinton, I don't know when, if ever, it happened.

We can't put such a liar in the White House; we just can't.
