Can The Government Do Anything Well?

A new story out today would be big news at any other time; right now, however, it is lost in the swirling scandals surrounding the Obama administration.  Here's the latest:

It seems that the feds put two known terrorists into the witness protection program after they helped in ongoing investigations.  So far, so good.  The problem, however, is that after that the government lost these two men.  That's right; two known terrorists were given new identities and then were lost somewhere in America.  To make things worse, the two were no longer on the no-fly list since they had new identities.  This means that two known terrorists were given new identities by the government which then allowed these two to fly on commercial aircrafts across America and the feds then lost track of them.

Let's just suppose that one or the other of these two had a change of heart.  In that event, the feds then would have made it possible for another 9-11 to take place.

Fortunately, that did not happen.  But, guess what:  the feds still don't know where the two men are.  They government now says that it believes that the two left the country, but in Washington, the word "believes" is another way of saying that they don't really know.

Can the government do anything well?
