Last Week, president Obama flew to Texas to start his much ballyhooed "Pivot To Jobs". That pivot is the periodic effort by Obama to try to appear interested in the main issue facing America. In the past, Obama has given speech after speech about the need for jobs, focused "like a laser" on the issue while doing nothing, and generally abandoned the economy and jobs when the first shiny object came into view to distract him. Last week's trip to Texas was a joke and now, in an unusual event, even the mainstream media has noticed.
Here is the opening of an article in Time, about the trip:
President Barack Obama’s campaign-style, jobs-focused swing through the Texas technology core on Thursday was notable mainly for what it left out—any plan for putting his proposals into law.
Time is a charter member of the Obama fan club, but even it realizes that the Obama trip was more a photo op than anything else. The reporter talks about Obama's jobs proposals as if they actually exist, but even he realizes that there is no attempt to pass any of them. They are talking points and only talking points.
America deserves a president who actually tries to make things better rather than one who only talks about it.
