I was reading a column by Magaret Carlson of Bloomberg News just now. For those who do not know her, Carlson is a minor columnist who usually parrots the liberal talking points of the day. To paraphrase Will Rogers, she never met an Obama talking point that she did not like. If one wants to see the story line that the progressive hacks are pushing, Carlson is a good person to read.
In any event, Carlson wrote today about the scandals about which the Republcans are "obsessed." Her view is that Benghazi and the IRS are really not that important except for the fact that the GOP is fixated on them. Well, here is a bit of news for Carlson (who would not be likely to recognize a real news story if it punched her in the gut.) These are real scandals. The slogan for Benghazi may be "People died, Obama lied!" But that is not the whole story. Four American diplomats are dead because Obama did nothing to secure the embassy, because Obama did nothing to send help once the attack began, and because Obama was not even interested enough in the attack to monitor it while it was happening. If the Commander in Chief is not interested in protecting American lives, then one has to wonder what he does care about. Okay, I am saying that this is Obama's failure, and I know that he was not involved in each of the decisions and reactions that make up Washington's response. Obama, however, should have injected himself into the mix. After all, the man is supposed to be President of the United States, not just someone who plays that role in front of a teleprompter. This is a very big deal.
It is time for even the hacks like Carlson to wake up and recognize what has actually happened.
