Is This Just A Distraction?

Right Now, the political establishment in Washington is busy discussing 1) the Benghazi scandal, 2) the IRS scandal, and 3) the surveillance of news organizations by the Obama Administration.  That means that we have dead diplomats who were left unprotected and unassisted by president Obama and his people, ordinary Americans who were harrassed by the Obamacrats at the IRS just because of their political views, and reporters who were being secretly spied upon by the police forces working for Obama.  In truth, this sounds more like a group of stories about a totalitarian state than America.  The three stories, especially when put together, make clear that the basic freedoms that Americans take for granted are under attack by Obama and the Obamacrats.  Obama himself said yesterday that none of this was a big deal; in his words, "there is no 'there' there."  He considers all of this just a distraction.  And that presents the big question:  is Obama right?  Are these stories just distractions?

The answer is a simple one:  NO!  With Benghazi we see the president and his people ignoring their basic responsibilities of office.  They allowed their own statements about the end of the terrorist threat to prevent them from taking action to protect our diplomats from an attack about which they were forewarned.  Then, after the attack, Obama and his people purposefully lied to the American people and the world about what had happened.  Indeed, they arranged to put the man who had caused the attack -- according to the phony story -- into prison where he remains to this date.  With the IRS, we see Obama and his people using the full force of the federal government to drive their opponents into submission.  Had Obama used half as much effort to protect the embassy in Benghazi, the diplomats murdered there would still be alive.  The IRS saga shows that freedom of speech and assembly is under attack by the Obamacrats.  The AP surveillance is an attack on the freedom of the press.  This is truly weird since the press is perhaps the main support of Obama and his administration.  Even so, this freedom is under attack.

None of this is a distraction.  It is the protection of America's basic freedoms from a concerted assault by the self important left.  These folks will not tolerate any disagreement with their plans.  They have to be stopped.
