Where's the Uproar?

The Gaza Strip is ruled by Hamas, a Palestinian terrorist group.  In the months since the fall of Hosni Mubarak in Egypt and the ascension to power of a government dominated by the Moslem Brotherhood, the terrorists in Gaza have been able to send men and weapons into the Sinai peninsula and to launch attacks on Israel and moderate Moslems from that location.  There is almost no traffic across the border between Gaza and Israel, but the border between Gaza and Egypt has mostly been open.  We have heard for years that Israel's keeping the border closed was racist, apartheid, inhuman, war crimes and the like.  The Israelis say that the closed border is necessary to prevent infiltration of terrorists into Israel itself.  That reason has never made much difference to the apologists for the terrorists.

Now, Egypt has closed its border with Gaza.  A few days ago, the very same terrorists kidnapped seven police and border guards in Egypt and now they are demanding that some prisoners in Egyptian jails be released in exchange for their captives.  In response, the Egyptian border police just closed the crossings between Gaza and Egypt.  The move stranded hundreds of people on one or the other side of the border.  The Egyptians did this to defend themselves.  They no longer want to allow terrorists to infiltrate into Egypt.

So, where is the uproar?  Where are the demonstrations denouncing this racist, apartheid action by the Egyptians?  Where are the folks on TV calling this a war crime?  Simply put, when Egypt closes the border to defend itself from terror attacks, why is that different from what the Israelis have done?

The simple fact is that Hamas and its affiliates in Gaza are dangerous people who think nothing of killing innocents to get what they want.  The sooner the world realizes this, the better.
