Holder and the Secret Police

Confirmation came tonight that Attorney General Eric Holder himself gave final approval to the snooping by the Justice Department into Fox News correspondent James Rosen.  To be clear, that means that Holder approved telling a federal court that Rosen likely commited a crime when all Rosen did was to gather news from government sources like any other reporter.  It also means that Holder himself approved the attempt to keep the snooping secret by telling the court that Rosen was a flight risk who would likely bolt if he learned of the investigation.  Think about that!  The Attorney General of the USA personally approved calling a reporter a criminal just for doing his job.  The Attorney General of the USA personally approved going through the email, phone calls and other records of a reporter, his parents, and his employers just because the reporter did his job.

Today, president Obama announced that a free press has to exist to act as a check on the government.  Then Obama called for a change to the law to guarantee a shield for reporters.  What a farce!  Up until now, there has never been a need for such a shield; we have the First Amendment to the Constitution which guarantees a free press.  No other president except Richard Nixon has had the nerve to even try to snoop through the records of a reporter just doing his job.  Obama's Attorney General takes this unprecedented step and Obama himself says he opposes such conduct.  Is he kidding?  Holder works for Obama!  Will we now see Holder get the boot?  I doubt it.

The truth is that Obama thinks that anything that harms his opponents is fine whether or not it is legal.  Our president thinks he is above the law, but he is not.  He even announced today that he was starting an investigation to find out exactly what happened here.  And do you know who is to run the investigation?  The answer, of course, is Eric Holder.  He is investigating himself.

The outrage continues!
