There Must Be a Whole Lot of "There" There!

This past week, president Obama said of the Benghazi scandal that there was no "there" there.  Today's events make certain that just the opposite is true.

Dan Pfeiffer whose title is Assistant to the President of the United States and Senior Advisor to the President for Strategy and Communications appeared on the Sunday morning news programs today.  On Fox News Sunday, Chris Wallace asked Pfeiffer where Obama was during the Benghazi attacks.  Ultimately, Pfeiffer had this to say:  "I don't remember what room the president was in on that night, and that's a largely irrelevant fact."

Let's stop there for the moment.  For the last eight months, people have been asking where Obama was once the attacks began.  We know that within minutes of the start of the eight hour attack, Obama was told of them during a meeting at the White House on another subject.  We know of no further involvement on his part until long after the attacks had ended and four Americans lay dead.  Particularly in the last month, there has been repeated focus on just what Obama himself had done to monitor and (hopefully) decide how to handle the situation in Libya.  The president's advisor for strategy and communications surely knows about this issue; if not, he is brain dead.  So Pfeiffer comes onto Fox News Sunday secure in the knowledge that he is likely to be asked where was Obama during the Benghazi attacks.  His answer is that he does not remember what room Obama was in and that is largely irrelevant.  Before Pfeiffer came to the studio this morning, his staff surely gave him a briefing about all the latest information, particularly regarding the scandals.  Now, Pfeiffer claims he cannot recall.  Now Pfeiffer claims the role of the president is largely irrelevant.

Pfeiffer is wrong.  During the attack, there was only one person with the horsepower to push through an attempt to rescue those under attack.  That person was Obama; everyone had to listen to him.  After the attack, there is only one person who could make clear that the American people deserved to be told the truth about what happened.  That person was Obama.  So, where the hell was he?  It matters.  I matters big time!

The truth is that Pfeiffer knows just how important this information really is.  His answer actually tells us that the truth is something that will be harmful to Obama.  Was he watching sports on TV?  Was he out to dinner with Michelle?  Was he out to dinner with a woman other than Michelle?  Was he sleeping?  Was he holding a political strategy session with David Axelrod?  What did he actually do during that time?  What was he doing while the four Americans were being blown apart by the terrorists?  What was he doing while the folks huddled in the Benghazi compound were under bombardment and in fear for their lives?  What was Obama doing??????
