Hayes or Hazy?

Chris Hayes is far from a household name.  For those of you who do not know who this guy is, he is the new host of the MSNBC show on at 8:00 each night.  Lately, on most nights, he is drawing an audience about one-eighth as big as the show opposite him on Fox, the O'Reilly Factor.  Hayes also has been losing to CNN and Headline News.  That means that even in the small world of cable news, Hayes is an also ran.  But Hayes is important;  his importance is not for his impact but for what he reveals about the current thinking in the progressive movement.  Hayes, you see, is a young true believer.  He has not only drunk the kook-aid, he also helps brew it up.  As a result, things come out of Hayes' mouth that are sometimes the first on air mention of the next big view of the lunatic left.

All this is by way of introduction to the latest view that Hayes is pushing.  According to Hayes, there really are no terrorists left.  The lunatic Islamic fanatics who hacked up a British soldier in London earlier this week and then announced that they did it as part of Jihad for revenge against the West for killings in their home countries are "just murderers" to Hayes.  Indeed, Hayes actually says that just because the killers say that they are part of an affiliate of al Qaeda and are fighting as part of jihad does not make it so.  These are just ordinary murderers, you see.  And the Tsarnaev brothers -- they to are "just murderers" in the world according to Hayes.  Their ties to Chechnya and the Islamic terror groups there are unimportant, says Hayes.  The Tsarnaevs are everyday, common place murderers.  That's all.

One could listen to Hayes saying these things and just dismiss him as a mental case.  Clearly, he is that, but he is more significant.  Hayes provides a good insight into how it is possible for president Obama to say that there have been no terror attacks in the USA since 9-11.  He also makes it possible to understand how Obama can say that the war on terror is over and that al Qaeda is gone.  Obama and his staff live in the same world as Hayes.  They hear the same pearls of "wisdom" about the true nature of terrorism.  They share the same world view.

All I can say about this is that we are in for a long, long three and a half years until Obama is finally gone.
