Another Interesting Question

How soon will it be before we see the first abuse of the new rules set forth in the Obama directive on gender identity?  It's not sham question; we will surely soon see the destruction that Obama's decree will unleash.

Here's a few examples of the possible mischief:

1.  The coach of the women's basketball team at a state university just can't seem to get his program to prosper.  As a result, he recruits male high school seniors to apply as females to college with the promise that they will get full athletic scholarships if they do.  These men who say they identify as women go to college for free and also get to be super successful in their basketball careers.  On top of that, they get to shower with their female team mates.  After college, these guys decide that they no longer identify as women.

2.  The state university has scholarships that were established for Native American women by a private benefactor.  The committee that awards the scholarships gets applications from some Asian American men who say that they identify as Native American women.  Needless to say, a lawsuit follows.

3.  The car insurance companies in a state charge lower premiums for teenage female drivers than for teenage males based upon the driving records of those groups.  A guy who cannot afford his insurance "identifies" as a female and tells the insurance carrier thereby seeking the lower insurance rate.  Here we get yet another lawsuit.  The lawyer for our young insurance applicant argues that if the government has a policy to rely on the self identification of students for gender identity, it is discriminatory for the insurance company to require anything more.  That means the insurance company is engaged in discrimination based upon gender.

4.  The Catholic Church only ordains male priests.  A woman who identifies as a man applies for the priesthood and is rejected for not being a man.  The inevitable lawsuit follows.  Our applicant argues that there is no religious exception for discrimination.  The applicant says "I am a man" so my rejection is clearly discrimination and not protected.

Clearly, not all of these things will happen.  Clearly, many others not listed will happen.  The point is a simple one.  Physical reality is an absolute fact.  It's not negotiable, no matter how much one may want it to be.  Obama and Hillary and the Democrats would do well to remember this truth.
