Have you ever heard of Jack Holmes of Esquire? I had not until I came across his article today about how Trump is dealing with his sinking poll numbers. Here's the beginning (which is as good as the entire piece):
Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Any commander will tell you that when it's all bad news, you've got to create some good news to feed the troops. You've got to keep spirits up. So now that Donald Trump is sinking in virtually all the polls, it's just about time for him to say they're all rigged and biased. Which he has—often.
So let's stop there. Could there be better proof that the media (or at least Jack Holmes of Esquire) is moronic?
First, the Germans did not bomb Pearl Harbor; it was the Japanese. Maybe Holmes never bothered to pay attention in history class in high school, but you would think he would have at least seen a movie or two that dealt with the subject. This is a guy who is supposedly analyzing the presidential race, and he doesn't even know the most basic facts of American history. Even better, the editors at Esquire, no doubt, read this piece before it was posted. That means that those fools also don't know what country attacked us at Pearl Harbor.
Second, Trump is not sinking in virtually all the polls. Just the opposite is true. Trump has been rising in the polls of late. In fact, as I posted about earlier today, the averages of all the polls show that Hillary's lead has been cut in half in the last two weeks. It's hard to analyze a reaction to something that is not happening, but apparently that's not the case for Holmes. And let's not forget those Esquire editors who once again approved an article based upon an erroneous premise. Don't they even bother to check the facts?

The guy is a hypocrite, but that comment was in reference to Animal House, which was hyperlinked in the article to the scene.
