Okay, we've now all seen the Memo. We heard for the last few weeks from the Democrats and the media that the Memo couldn't be released because it would disclose "sources and methods" of our intelligence agencies and would thereby undermine national security. It was an endless mantra; if you turned on CNN (God forbid) or MSNBC or even the network news, there was Adam Schiff or Nancy Pelosi or one of a hundred other Democrats or self proclaimed media "experts" warning about how those sources and methods could not be disclosed. But, as I said at the start, we've now all seen the Memo, and that means we all know that it does not disclose sources or methods. In fact, none of the Democrats/"experts" is even mentioning that issue anymore. We know (and they know too) that the sources and methods narrative was just another lie. In fact, it was an obvious and rather idiotic lie. So, the question now is why did they lie so obviously.
At PJ Media, Roger Simon gives us his view.
"It seems this particular lie was a last line of defense — for now — against a coming potential Armageddon for their party. This memo, bad as it is, is apparently only the first of many, a small percentage of what is to come. And the Democrats know it.

Fear is operative. Maybe panic."
Is Simon right? Are Democrats and the left that desperate? I'm sure that some of the people parroting the lie didn't know it was untrue. Some of those "experts" at CNN just follow the talking points without even seeming to understand them. The Democrat members of Congress, however, should have read the memo before lying about it. Certainly Adam Schiff and Pelosi read it, and they just lied and lied and lied. For those two, I do think they are desperate. Schiff has spent the last year becoming a media celebrity. He's now the public face of the Trump-Russia investigation in Congress. For the last six months, that investigation has been collapsing. The final collapse began when it was disclosed that it was the DNC and the Clinton campaign that paid to create the phony Trump Dossier which began the whole investigation. The collapse was final once the Memo was released. Schiff went from a national figure to a national laughingstock with a clear problem of constantly lying. Just think how many times he's told the nation of all the "evidence" of Trump-Russia collusion. Now we know there is no such evidence other than a phony dossier ginned up by a Clinton dirty trick with complicity by the leaders of the FBI. If he didn't live in a gerrymandered district, Schiff might not even get re-elected to Congress.
And Pelosi? Two months ago, she was all but certain that she would be Speaker in 2019 when the Democrats' blue wave swept them back into power. Since then, nothing has gone right for this bumbling Botox beauty. She and Chuck Schumer shut down the government and then totally caved in just three days. She told the nation that the tax cut law would be Armageddon, the end of the world. Now after it has passed, the immense benefits are there for all to see. In a few weeks, all those millions of people to whom Pelosi lied and convinced them they would not get a tax cut will see her for the liar she truly is. The polls have been shifting. Right now, they show a close race for Congress, but the GOP has all the momentum. Pelosi knows what all that extra take home pay will do. The Memo on top of the current situation spells doom to her dream of again being Speaker Pelosi.
Many times in politics, people say the wrong thing in the heat of the moment. Just think of the aftermath of candidate Trump saying that John McCain was not a hero. The dividends of that stupid remark are still coming in. Simply put, McCain has never forgiven Trump for saying that. But that was a one time, on-the-spot comment. The Democrats "sources" and "methods" mantra was adopted by an entire party and their toadies in the media. It wasn't an off the cuff mistake. It was a battle plan that was doomed to failure. And they knew it. It was yet another demonstration of just what a low opinion the Democrats have of the American people. They actually thought they could get away with it. As the President might say in a tweet, "SAD!"
