The Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank issues periodic projections about the state of the economy. Today, the Atlanta Fed raised its view on the likely growth of the American economy for the first quarter to 5.4%. That's amazing!
Over the last few years, the Atlanta Fed has had the best record when it comes predicting the growth in the economy. Any projection by a federal reserve bank is important, but this prediction by the Atlanta Fed is particularly major.
Let me put this number in proper context. During the eight years of Obama as president, the American economy never even grew at an annual rate of 2.7%. That's jut half of 5.4%. In other words, the Trump reduction of regulations and the GOP tax reform will push the economy into growing more than twice as fast as the best year Obama ever achieved.
