What A Difference A Day Makes

Yesterday, the shooter in Florida, Nikolas Cruz was an Hispanic orphan who had just lost his mother.  He lived with a family (Hispanic) that took him in.  They said they had seen no hint that the attack was coming.  Today, ABC is reporting that Cruz is a white supremacist affiliated with a group called the Republic of Florida.  It does seem strange that the white supremacists took him in given that he is Hispanic.  The source for this latest news is the ADL which was told about Cruz's affiliation by some other students.  The head of the Republic of Florida group confirmed that Cruz was a member, but that could be nothing more than a move to try to get publicity, much like when ISIS or some other terrorist group claims credit for an attack with which they had no connection.

Here's the real question though.  If Cruz really was affiliated with this group of crazies, then it's another reason why he should have been on the radar of the FBI.  You can be sure that the FBI has an ongoing investigation into the Republic of Florida.  The bureau would know of Cruz (assuming he actually was involved with that group.)  When the FBI was warned of Cruz' threat made on youtube to be a school shooter, the name Nikolas Cruz would have popped out of their suspect data base in something under a second.  So the question is once again, WHAT THE HELL WAS THE FBI DOIN?  Alternatively, why is the ADL and ABC pushing a false story about Cruz' affiliations?
