Israeli Elections Didn't Change This

Early this morning, there was a missile attack on three Iranian installations near the Syrian city of Homs.  The main target hit was a missile development factory run by the Iranians.  Two other adjoining facilities were also struck.  The Syrians say that the attack came from Israeli jets, although Israel has not confirmed this.

The attack is important since it is the first since the Israeli elections a few days ago.  There is not yet a new Israeli government, but assuming the attack really came from Israeli planes, it seems to be Israel's way of telling the Iranians that they cannot assume Israel will be immobilized until a new government is in place.

The news reports about the attack are interesting since both the Syrian reports and those in London issued by Syrian based organizations describe the missile factory as being an Iranian installation.  No one is even trying any longer to deny that the Iranians are building weapons inside Syria.

Most likely, we will continue to see these attacks as more and more Iranian facilities are pinpointed by Israeli intelligence.
