One of the main issues being argued these days (like for the last few decades) is illegal immigration into the USA. President Trump calls the situation at the southern border a national emergency. The Democrats, especially those running for president, as well as the mainstream media call the same situation a phony emergency. They say it is just something that the President made up to use for political reasons. These Democrats do not see illegal immigration as a problem at all.
So what do the nation's voters think about this? They have a rather clear view. According to a new poll, 67% of all likely voters think that illegal immigration is a serious problem with a full 47% calling it "very serious." Only 8% of likely voters say (like the Democrats) that illegal immigration is not at all a serious problem.
These are not close numbers. In fact, the numbers are so one-sided that I wonder why the Democrats are not changing their position. The only reason I can see for this is that any change would deliver a major victory to President Trump, and the Democrats would rather deny Trump a victory than do something about a very serious problem.
