A Reminder For Those Who Do Not Care About History

Seventy five years ago, the world changed in a big way.  On this day, all those years ago, Japan surrendered and World War II ended.  Nearly the entire structure of the modern world traces back to that war and its successful conclusion.

Right now, though, it is as if it has been completely forgotten.

Just think of the battle of  the USA and the UK against the forces of fascism that would deny people their basic freedoms -- like freedom of speech.  Today, we have sizable forces in the USA that want to control people's speech by labeling anything with which they disagree as "hate speech" and criminalizing it.  They want to throw away the very freedom that so many millions died to preserve just 75 years ago.
