Joe Biden is suffering from senile dementia or Alzheimers. We all can see that. Still, as Biden's mental faculties deteriorate, it's important to remember where they were before the deterioration began. Simply put, Biden is not very smart.
Biden went to the University of Delaware. During his first three semesters at that school, his grades were all C's and D's except for Phys Ed. (for which he got an A) and ROTC (for which he got an F). Biden went on to law school at Syracuse and finished in the bottom 10% of his class. There aren't any people out there who would argue that either Delaware or Syracuse Law School were top notch institutions at that time. Delaware was a run of the mill state school, and Biden's performance there placed him squarely among the lowest performing students. Biden's law school performance marked him as the sort of law student who was obviously not going to make it as a successful lawyer.
So the Democrats are nominating a not -too - smart old white guy whose limited mental abilities are clearly deteriorating.
