Here's an excerpt from Charles Krauthammers column in which he quotes the NY Times:
"Our Afghan policy was focused as much as anything on domestic politics," an Obama adviser told the New York Times' Peter Baker. "He would not risk losing the moderate to centrist Democrats in the middle of health insurance reform and he viewed that legislation as the make-or-break legislation for his administration."
Let's look at what this means. Obama tailored his Afghanistan policy to win votes for healthcare reform. That's right, the Commander in Chief, responsible for the lives of hundreds of thousands of men and women in the armed forces put them into harms way to further his healthcare policy. The deciding issue for Obama was not the national interest of the USA; it was not defeating terrorism; it was not bringing a quicker end to hostilities; it certainly was not saving the troops from death and injury. No, it was to achieve the government takeover of healthcare.
This is probably the single worst indictment of Barack Obama's presidency that I have seen -- and it comes from the NY Times. No president should ever play with the lives of America's fighting forces for gain in a domestic policy debate.
I have said it many times before, but now I am shouting it: OBAMA MUST GO!!!!!!
H/T to Steve Brill for alerting me to this item.
