Since I am on countless political mailing lists, I get many e-mails of interest. Still, I got one today that I found surprising. It came from Tea Party Express. I am not sure how I got on the e-mail list, but I get periodic e-mails from them touting one or another candidate. Today's e-mail, however, was different. It contained what it said was a tweet on the twitter account of Rick Klein, ABC News Senior Washington Editor. The Tweet reads, "God bless aides at DE GOP whose job it is to try to kill off Christine O'Donnell's candidacy"
I cannot say for sure if Klein really sent such a tweet. If he did, however, he ought to be ashamed of himself and ABC should consider firing him. There is no place for supposedly unbiased news people to endorse candidates in a primary. I hope that Mike Castle defeats Christine O'Donnell in the Delaware GOP primary next Tuesday, but I still think it was wrong for a straight news person to give out an endorsement of this sort. He is not a pundit. He is not writing opinion. He is supposedly part of a team that brings actual news and not opinon to the public. This tweet is just beyond the pale.
